The search for income generating projects is the objective of the Foundation.

Learning dressmaking with access to a sewing machine offers the widows the possibility of learning a skill that can generate an income by making uniforms and clothes.
Objetives:
To buy 9 sewing machines, cloth, scissors and needles.
Benefitiaries:
The community of women from the villages of Sambasha, Olmontonyi and Shangarai.
Budget:
  • The price of a sewing machine is of 115000 Tanzanian shillings ($77, 58€ or £50)
  • Materials:
    • The price of the cloth varies but it is approximately 4000 TSH ($3) per metre.
    • Scissors 10000 TSh ($7.50) 
    • Needles 2000 TSh ($ 1.45)

Achievements:
  • Rebecca from Shangarai has started a little workshop in her house with one of the donated sewing machines with which she is making clothes for the local orphanage.
  • Mama Nice from Shangarai is making alterations and repairs for her neighbours and family.
  • The 60 women from the Elakunoto and Matudumunye groups with their 2 sewing machines have been awarded a governmentn contract to make school uniforms.
