SOLIDARITY MARKET TO BENEFIT CARPIO PÉREZ FOUNDATION

SOLIDARITY MARKET TO BENEFIT CARPIO PÉREZ FOUNDATION

10 Diciembre 2015 -
As we have said before, the group Educacem helps us permanently with solidarity campaigns of all types (from the donation of uniforms to buying hens for our hen house).  A few months ago we had a marvellous  surprise when  we heard that they were going to organise a little solidarity market to support financially  the creation of the new primary education classrooms for the Eretore School.  They are being built at present and we intend to have them finished before the end of the year.  This news is like having Christmas early!  A present from The Three Wise Men we were not expecting but that we welcome with so much happiness!

Although all help is always welcome, in this case, this contribution is specially well received because building the new classrooms is a very big expense.  Buying building materials, windows, equipment for the classrooms, payment of labourers,....  a lot of money and very little resources.

In spite of having difficulties to advance and continue with our work, our hopes are bigger than the obstacles we encounter, and there are many, because we are convinced that making this School successful is the best way to help the Maasai children of Arkaria to have better opportunities and a more dignified life.

This initiative of the Colegio Europeo de Madrid is not only valuable because of the financial help (which is big and very important!!!) but also because it gives us the opportunity to publicise our work and show that every euro that we receive (every cent to be precise) goes in its totality through the Foundation to the Maasai Community.  Because the community of Maasai widows and children is not only the community for which María and Mibaku work, but it is the community to which they belong.

Every person who help us, every volunteer who offers to give us a hand, every teamer who joins our project give us strength to carry on.  There is still a lot to do, but it makes us feel a little bit less alone.

Many many thanks to everybody who collaborate.  To the school, to the management, to the volunteers, to the parents, the children, the teachers.  We are hoping to thank you in person on our next trip to Spain.
